Daniel Liu
Growth Marketing & Demand Generation | B2B Fintech and Global B2B

Professional Summary

Ten years of full-funnel B2B growth. I led paid and lifecycle while a payments line went from $2M to past $250M in annual revenue, and now run growth solo with AI agents doing the repeat work.

Work Experience

Senior Marketing Manager | ThinkingAI | San Francisco, CA

Jun 2026 – Present
  • Run demand generation for a mobile-first product analytics company as its only marketer, from the Google Ads account to content and the newsletter.
  • When the content manager left a month after I joined, I replaced the role with two agent-native engines. Social went from two or three posts a week to five, and the newsletter holds about a 22% open rate.
  • Cut a competitor's 3,156 paid keywords to a 47-term buy list on a four-model pipeline and added 239 negatives in one day, so the account starts from what the rival already pays for.
  • Built the ABM universe from technology signals, taking net-new precision from about 2% to 31% over six filter rounds and landing 1,013 target companies.
  • Rebuilt the site on a hand-coded Sanity CMS, which put campaign landing pages under marketing control.

AI Product Founder and Marketing Consultant | Self-Employed | San Francisco, CA

Jan 2025 – Present
  • Shipped nine AI go-to-market tools to live URLs, each built end to end and alone, from positioning and landing page to product and launch. The three newest:
  • Career Capybara (careercapybara.com): a job-search workspace where four agents tailor the resume to each role and keep it on one record with the application. Free and paid tiers, Stripe live.
  • AdRadar (adradar.hi-daniel.com): reads a competitor's public LinkedIn ads as one campaign system, mapping the messages, offers and funnel stage behind them. In private beta.
  • TechSpy (techspy.hi-daniel.com): reads any company's tech stack from public signals, including React and Next.js apps other scanners miss, and turns it into a go-to-market read. Live with paid tiers.
  • Wrote the governance layer: 35 system prompts, each pinned to one model and tool list, every edit logged.

Senior Digital Marketing Manager (Growth & Operations) | PingPong | San Mateo, CA

Aug 2023 – Oct 2025
  • Owned full-funnel performance across paid media, the website and account-based targeting, built on ZoomInfo and then 6sense for named enterprise accounts.
  • Put the OpenAI API to work in 2023, ahead of general adoption, on content production, data enrichment, lead scoring and support-ticket drafting.
  • Sent only non-sensitive tickets to GPT-4o mini, with personal data stripped first, and CS still sent every reply.
  • Held the marketing function alone for over six months through three manager changes, with no drop in output.
  • Program-managed three website rebuilds, moving an HTML site onto Webflow with a new sitemap and SEO standard.

Marketing Manager (Ads & Lifecycle) | PingPong | San Mateo, CA

Oct 2021 – Sep 2023
  • Led paid acquisition and lifecycle while annual revenue on the cross-border payments line went from $2M to $76M in year one and past $250M in year two.
  • Cut LinkedIn cost per lead from over $300 to about $160 and Google registration cost from over $90 to about $35, with lead and registration volume held steady.
  • Built the lifecycle program from nothing. Registration to identity verification (KYC) submission went from roughly 10% into the 35 to 40% range.
  • Took over Salesforce administration when the admin left, onboarded HubSpot end to end, and automated routing so Sales saw a new lead in 1 to 2 minutes instead of 12 hours.
  • Launched the affiliate program and grew it to thirty-odd active partners over about two years.

Vice President of Marketing (promoted from Marketing Manager) | ToLocal Inc. | Mountain View, CA

Jul 2015 – Aug 2021
  • Joined as employee number one and the first marketer, and was VP of Marketing six years later, with a US team of 7 and 5 more in China.
  • Managed a $10M annual media budget across paid social, DSP and affiliate networks at over 80% ROI, negotiating terms with ad networks and affiliate aggregators.
